We have two opportunities for legal support staff at our Melbourne CBD office Workers Compensation/Workcover practice.
We're looking for experienced, passionate, and dedicated Legal Assistants and Law Clerks with PI experience, with roles available at all levels to join us full-time or part-time.
If you're eager to make a meaningful impact and grow with us, we'd love to hear from you.Job tasks and responsibilitiesProvide legal administrative and practice management support to a Principal Lawyer in the Workers Compensation/Workcover team;Drafting court documents, preparing/compiling briefs, letters and correspondence;Filing court documents;Diary, email and task management;Arrange meetings and appointments;Liaise with clients, law firms, barristers, court staff, insurers, doctors and other third parties;Develop and maintain billing and invoicing systems;General file management and work with the lawyer to advance files and achieve optimal file velocity;Monitor critical dates to ensure deadlines are met;Handle telephone, general enquiries and requests from clients;Maintain data records and generate reports.Skills and experienceAt least 1 year of personal injury law experience is essential;Experience in Workers Compensation/Workcover is highly regarded;Empathetic, confident and personable with a genuine interest in Personal Injury Law;Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;High level of professionalism, exceptional client service skills and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care;Superior organisational and task management skills, ability to manage conflicting priorities and respond to rapidly changing needs of a fast-paced practice;Ability to confidently and professionally communicate with clients, referrers, health professionals, Courts, barristers, lawyers and Government agencies;Technology-savvy and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications;Ability to show initiative;An interest in contributing to developing, maintaining and refining systems and processes within the practice.Why Gordon Legal?When you join Gordon Legal, you join a progressive, hardworking, and passionate team renowned for making a positive impact through meaningful and memorable work.How to applyIf you want to join an innovative firm and engage in meaningful work that allows you to fulfil your professional purpose, click 'Apply' and include your cover letter and CV.
