Zenviron has a permanent position available for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the engineering team based in the Newcastle Office.
Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing quality, safe, and commercially effective engineering designs for large scale wind farms and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
If you are an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer skilled in high voltage system design, who wants to be a part of key growth across the renewables sector, come and join the inclusive and high performing Zenviron team.
Key responsibilities will include: Delivering the design of large scale high voltage infrastructure projects including the engineering of:System analysis and studiesEarthing systemsSubstation primary, protection and control systemsSecondary schematics and panel designLVAC and LVDC systemsUnderground and overhead collector systemsLeading electrical equipment specification and procurement activities, co-ordinating suppliers and subcontractorsUnderstanding your WHS responsibilities and actively promoting and supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and othersProviding technical leadership and support to other members of the Engineering team and project teamsEnsuring all designs/documentation meet the relevant standards AS/IECProviding engineering support to project electrical works including engineering investigations, site inspections, solving problems and making recommendationsWhat we are looking for: Australian recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (or be eligible to obtain on commencement)State-based Professional Engineer registration (or be eligible to obtain on commencement)Proven experience in electrical infrastructure engineering design for HV substation or large scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on primary system design (highly regarded)Working knowledge of PowerFactory, PSCAD, CDEGS design softwareStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsStrong attention to detail in the delivery of effective and high quality designsStrong ability to mentor engineers to develop capabilitiesExcellent communication (written and verbal) skillsProof of right to work in AustraliaTo be successful in this role you will require well-developed interpersonal skills to assist you in building effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally, whilst you will demonstrate a team orientated approach to work and commitment to continuous improvement.
