Wacol Youth Remand Education Support Hub, Metro South
Queensland Education and Training Centres (QETC) in South-East Queensland is seeking passionate Primary and Secondary trained teachers to join our team at the Wacol Youth Remand Education Support Hub (WYRESH) youth detention centre.

QETC is a multi-campus Department of Education school operating within South-East Queensland's Youth Detention Centres at Wacol.
QETC caters to male and female students from across the state who are either on remand or have been sentenced for criminal offences.
The school plays an important role in the community by providing young people in detention with the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, and values that can enhance their capacity to pursue positive choices in the future.
WYRESH will be a co-educational school delivering educational programs to up to 76 remanded young people at the Youth Justice operated Wacol Youth Remand Centre located at Wacol.
The curriculum will focus on individualised literacy and numeracy learning and, through the social development of students utilising restorative practice principles, will aim to prepare students for a successful transition to school, employment, or further training.
About the role:
Teachers will work collaboratively with the Head of Campus, staff across QETC campuses, and key stakeholders from interdepartmental agencies to implement an improvement agenda underpinned by QETC's vision statement of "unlocking learning."

Job Duration: A period of 1 year with the possibility of extension
Applicants for these positions must possess:
A relevant teaching qualification.
Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a teacher in Queensland.
Working rights in Australia, which means you have, or you are eligible to obtain a valid Australian Visa with work rights.
