The Centre's layered training framework will ensure future Indigenous practitioners and emerging leaders can continue to deliver cost-effective restoration business solutions at the scale and diversity required to service future demand and transform the restoration economy.About the opportunityYou will be responsible for a diverse program of research that addresses the needs of Indigenous people and communities through quantification of the cumulative economic and commercial benefits derived from an Indigenous restoration economy. Specifically, you will document the productive capacity of Indigenous enterprise and its influence on skills pathways, Indigenous household income, welfare payments, individual and community health and wellbeing.The position is based in Perth and will involve collaboration with the Curtin and UWA Healing Country Chief Investigators. The successful candidate will make a substantial contribution to the research of Healing Country, the host School, and the University of Western Australia, will collaborate, and partner with Indigenous research users, and liaise with industry partners in the Healing Country network. The candidate will develop and maintain a research profile at national and international levels and be involved in post-graduate student supervision.About youDoctoral qualification in a relevant applied economics field with a keen interest in developing an understanding of socio-economic processes and impacts.Strong background experience and knowledge in First Nations and Aboriginal mattersProficiency in both qualitative, and quantitative research methods and data collection.Strong communication and scientific writing abilityDemonstrable understanding of, or willingness to learn, Indigenous knowledge systems and their integration with Western scientific approaches.A high-level of Indigenous cultural competency or willingness to develop thisability to communicate and collaborate effectively with Indigenous communities, decision-makers and research-usersPlease apply online via the Apply Now button and address the selection criteria in your submission in a separate document.
