Full-time ongoing role Join a team of experienced professionals in the Collections & Exhibitions unit Convenient central location in the heart of the Arts Precinct About the Role The Project Manager role is responsible for the smooth and successful execution of a variety of activities within the Collections & Exhibitions team such as collection displays, online activations and physical exhibitions.
As a key figure in ensuring the operational delivery of such projects, the Project Manager will create proposals and briefs, oversee the planning and scheduling of projects including resource requirements and budgets, and will maintain effective working relationships with external and internal stakeholders throughout.
Full-time ongoing position.
Band 3.3 annual salary $91,060.00 plus superannuation.
Your Qualifications, Skills and Experience (key criteria) A relevant tertiary qualification and/or substantial experience in the same or similar role in a gallery or museum Demonstrated high-level knowledge of and experience in the principles, practices and procedures of project management and delivery within a museum or gallery environment Proven experience with current technology and applications, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and upgrades.
Demonstrated experience of applying best practice museum standards to a variety of media, including a good understanding about safe and effective handling, documentation, packing, transportation, installation, loan and display of cultural material Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in relation to liaising, influencing, consulting, collaborating and reporting with senior management, peers, donors, and external contacts Demonstrated experience with performing risks assessments, meeting compliance with policies and developing innovative processes and procedures A current driver's licence is desirable For more details, please read Position Description - CE Project Manager October 2024.pdf About the team The purpose of Collections & Exhibitions is to enrich and inspire diverse audiences through the understanding and enjoyment of Australian performing arts history.
The objectives of the Business Unit are: To be Australia's leading museum for the performing arts and create a world class venue to showcase the Australian Performing Arts Collection.
To demonstrate excellence in the care, development, preservation, documentation, and display of the Australian Performing Arts Collection and Public Art Collection.
To provide our audiences with meaningful experiences through dynamic exhibitions and public programmes, and innovative digital engagement.
To recognise and celebrate our diverse communities and their role in the visual and performing arts.
To support contemporary practitioners through active collecting, exhibiting and commissioning.
