Professor Greg Neely's laboratory has four unique opportunities for PhD students to work on ground-breaking research in RNA medicine, CRISPR technologies, synthetic protein design and venom genomics. Available projects: New RNA medicines for major human diseases (Project ID: 3332)
Develop RNA-based therapies to treat diseases related to neuroscience, immunity, and lung function. Utilize cutting-edge RNA delivery systems to design and test synthetic genes for rapid therapeutic development.New functional CRISPR screens (Project ID: 3331)
Advance CRISPR-based technologies to analyse cellular responses at a genome-wide scale. This project will enhance understanding of disease pathways and aims to rapidly produce new therapeutic solutions.Using directed evolution for synthetic protein development (Project ID: 3333)
Apply a unique mammalian-directed evolution platform to create and characterize synthetic proteins for research and therapeutic use. This project explores the enhancement of CRISPR tools and protein medicines.Genomic investigation of poisonous plants and animals (Project ID: 3334)
Leverage genomics and CRISPR to understand venoms and develop antidotes or medicinal compounds. The goal is to create universal venom antidotes and identify venom-derived bioactive molecules.To be eligible you must: Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residenceHold an undergraduate degree with at least a credit average or equivalentIf you're ready to make a meaningful impact in medical science, apply now and specify the project(s) you're most interested in.
