Supervisor | Business Advisory & TaxationDescriptionThe Supervisor is responsible for analysing fiscal & tax matters and preparing, submitting, and managing financial statements and tax returns for clients. The role provides advice on financial and tax matters and requires an in-depth knowledge of the regulations, laws, and acts that govern this process. This role actively coaches, mentors, and reviews the work of junior accountants.Key RelationshipsInternal relationshipsDirectorsManagersTeam membersPayroll teamExternal relationshipsCurrent clientsProspective clientsATO and other regulatory bodiesResponsibilitiesReview and manage income tax, BAS, FBT, and ESS lodgementsProvide ongoing support and advisory services to clientsWorking with the Audit team, prepare tax calculation, DTA/DTL for audited financialsRecommend and apply new strategies based on new legislative changes for the portfolio of clientsStreamline procedures and offer recommendations on how the tax filing process can run more efficientlyReview potential profitability areas to save on taxes and analyse any additional tax informationCoach, mentor, and review the work of junior accountants to build competence and improve productivityKnowledge, Experience and SkillsDegree qualified in accounting, business, or commerceCA or CPA qualifiedA minimum of six years' experience in external public practiceA strong understanding of relevant income tax and other legislationCompetent in the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and activity statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals with minimal supervisionExperienced in managing tax issues such as Div 7A, FBT, CGT, SGC, and tax residencyThe ability to actively manage client engagements and deliver them within budgetsThe ability to effectively manage client relationships through periods of disagreement or contentionSome working knowledge of accounting standardsHigh level of computer literacy, with an excellent understanding of accounting softwareExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organisation and follow-up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitmentsBroad commercial expertise and judgement, as well as excellent analytical skillsExcellent attention to detailThe ability to effectively coach, mentor, and lead to improve performance and engagementApply TodayIf this sounds like the opportunity for you, click 'Apply Now'.
