We are partnering with a large retail banking in Sydney who are seeking a Market Risk Analyst in a contract capacity.
As part of the Risk Management team, you'll contribute to maintaining a robust control environment and aligning with regulatory requirements while developing a deeper understanding of retail and wholesale banking practices.As a Market Risk Analyst, you'll support the Market Risk Management team responsible for monitoring and reporting on Market Risk for the Bank Australia and their branches.
This includes managing interest rate risk in the banking book, funding, and liquidity risk.
You'll leverage your quantitative and qualitative skills to uphold Market Risk policies, processes, and regulatory frameworks while ensuring compliance with APRA, Basel, and internal standards.Working as part of the 2nd line of defense, you'll review and challenge IRRBB and liquidity risk management processes, collaborate with Treasury and Finance teams, and identify opportunities for improved controls and automation.
This role offers exposure to a dynamic regulatory environment and cutting-edge banking practices.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide support for accurate and timely Market Risk reporting for the bank.Contribute to maintaining a superior Market Risk Management control environment aligned with APRA, Basel, and internal requirements.Assist in monitoring and reviewing IRRBB and liquidity risk management processes.Collaborate with Line 1 teams (Treasury and Finance) to review and challenge regulatory reports.Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation measures.Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements and global banking standards.What We're Looking For2-3 years experience in a Market Risk role.Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.Knowledge or interest in Market Risk Management, including interest rate and liquidity risk.Ability to understand and apply regulatory frameworks, policies, and processes.Collaborative mindset with a commitment to improving processes and controls.Enthusiasm for developing expertise in retail and wholesale banking practices.What's in It for You?Opportunity to work within a globally recognized financial institution.Develop expertise in Market Risk Management and banking regulations.Be part of a supportive and innovative team environment.Gain exposure to retail and wholesale banking operations.If you're passionate about Market Risk Management and want to grow in a collaborative, high-performing environment, reach out to Jake Loiterton on or For Job#J-18808-Ljbffr
