This is a great opportunity to join a leading mining company at the forefront of mining technology, offering the chance to grow your knowledge, skills, and career.In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Closure APAC team, including the Global Project Services Manager, Principal and Senior Advisors.
You will also work with APAC General Managers and the Rio Tinto Closure Finance Business Partner on reporting for APAC spending and progress.
Your role will involve overseeing the workload, scope, and performance of the APAC project controllers and schedulers.
You will coordinate with General Managers, District Managers, Asset Managers, Study Leads, and Contractors to track cost and schedule regional performance.
Additionally, you will be involved in stakeholder and project meetings, and reviews, and lead internal project controls meetings as needed.Reporting to the Global Project Services Manager for Closure and working in a collaborative community, you will be:Managing the regional implementation of the global project services mission, vision, and goals.Managing APAC Project Controller's and Scheduler's workload, scope of work, deliverables, and performance.Managing stakeholder engagement with APAC project leadership and leadership of supporting functions.Managing SAP project creation, SAP budget uploads, and WBS structure.Managing the alignment of the regional Project Controls Team, and supporting vendors, to the tools, processes and procedures used by the Global Project Services Team.Coordinating with Global Document Control Lead regarding document control project setup, vendor access, and project tracking.As directed by the Project Services Manager, support with or manage the following:Global process improvements and implementationRecruitment of new project controllers and schedulersLead regional trainings and presentationsWhat You'll BringCommitment to the safety of yourself and your teamA bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, accounting or a related field is desirable.Five or more years of experience in project controlsExperience with managing project control deliverables for a portfolio of projectsRobust understanding of project management and controls conceptsKnowledge or experience in scheduling and progress managementExperience with earned value management, forecasting and accrualsManagement experience and ability to work independently as a self-starterExcellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholdersApplied knowledge in change managementProficient in SAP, Excel and Power BIWhat We OfferBe recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you've helped the world progress.A work environment where safety is always the number one priorityA permanent position working directly for Rio TintoA competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive programComprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate familyAttractive share ownership planCompany provided insurance coverExtensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging optionsCareer development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitionsOngoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing supportLeave for all of life's reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave)Exclusive employee discounts (banking, accommodation, cars, retail and more)Possible domestic relocation assistanceWhere you'll be workingThis role will be based in our Brisbane hub.Applications close on Tuesday the 21st of January 2025 (Rio Tinto reserves the right to remove advertised roles prior to this date)About Rio TintoRio Tinto is a leading global mining and materials company.
