About the role Ansvar Australia, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for an SME Underwriter to join our Team.
The Senior SME Underwriter is responsible for the personal underwriting of small to medium renewal cases, with less complex risk within the SME portfolio of business.
The primary objective is to deliver professional and efficient customer service to achieve profitable premium growth and underwriting profitability in our core segments.
Reporting to the Regional Underwriting Manager, this role can be based in any of our state offices.

Key responsibilities Undertake personal underwriting of the SME portfolio Deliver professional and efficient customer service to brokers and distribution partners, as well as internal colleagues Assist the Portfolio Managers and Regional Underwriting Manager in maximising the profitability of the SME portfolio Contribute to developing a workplace learning environment Knowledge, skills and experience 2+ years experience working in Underwriting Sound knowledge of Package products and exposures Ability to develop and implement practical strategies to secure new business and retention of renewals Excellent collaboration, communication and negotiation skills both internally and externally Proven ability to assist in the development and implementation of effective risk management strategies within the general insurance industry Able to demonstrate excellent people skills and ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, business partners, and customers A team player and enjoy working in a fun, vibrant team environment What we offer Learning and Development opportunities Employee Referral Program A range of Health and Wellbeing Benefits Reward & Recognition Program with discounts and deals at 100's of local retailers Competitive Parental Leave Arrangement Purchase additional Annual Leave opportunity Hybrid work arrangement Paid Volunteer day 1 per year Community Education Grant Program Participation in Ansvar's short-term incentive scheme up to 15% About us Benefact Group is a unique international financial services Group made up of over 30 businesses.
