We are looking to connect with a highly motivated and experienced Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our Delivery Team in providing essential water and sanitation services to more than 1.7 million people and 52,000 business customers in the northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Our client manages more than 3.7 billion dollars of water and sewage infrastructure, including reticulated recycled water, across an area of approximately 4,000 square kilometres.
Join one of the largest infrastructure services providers in AustralasiaWork in an environment where our people can make a difference.Work with an experienced, diverse, and collaborative team About the roleVentia is seeking a passionate and organised Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our Delivery Team to work predominately with our team in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne operating from our Mitcham depot.
Your main goal will be to take ownership of and ensure the timely mechanical maintenance support for pumping stations, treatment plants, and storage facilities.
Reporting to the Delivery Team leader, your ability to provide support safely and to best practice will set you above everyone else.
Working in a fast-paced environment which is dynamic in nature, you will have the confidence to work within a multi-disciplined team.

You'll be responsible for several key activities including: Be a safety champion within your teamProvide routine maintenance and project work on all assetsEnsure daily maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and testing of all mechanical equipment faults is conducted in a safe and timely mannerCoordinate subcontractors and ensure compliance with Ventia's work and safety standardsMonitor subcontractors' performance to ensure project plans and milestones are metComplete all work orders and purchase orders in a timely mannerActively communicate and liaise with all team membersAbout you Experience, ideally in the utilities, oil and gas, mining, or large scale FMCG industryTrade Qualified Mechanical FitterDemonstrated experience in Water and/or Waste-Water infrastructure projectsWhite cardCurrent Australian driver's licenseHeavy Rigid Licence is an advantageAbility to work night shifts on shutdowns or when requiredAbility to participate in the on-call rosterDiversityVentia is enriched by the diverse experiences, talents, and cultures that our people bring to the organisation, while celebrating and respecting the communities we operate in.
