The Role
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, this role will seek to understand and consolidate the agency's data collection capabilities into a single platform and enable the decommission of several legacy data management and reporting systems.
This complex piece of work requires the design of transitionary states in the architecture, ensuring data integrity and continuity of service to business stakeholders.
The critical aspects of the role are as follows:
Assist in the documentation of the features and functions of each component within the current architecture (including SQL databases, SAS cubes and various ETL procedures) Devise a migration strategy that facilitates the decommission of the agency's current submission portal (D2A), Operational Data Stores and SAS reporting objects Ensure critical workloads are effectively directed to the agency's new data platform (Databricks on Azure) About you A background in IT data architecture with extensive experience in defining and delivering data transformation roadmaps Technical leadership of large complex transformation projects and the ability to analyse and understand complex data flows, transformations and computations Ability to think strategically from a range of perspectives about how to achieve the target architecture and to translate these proposals into concrete plans for delivery aligned to defined cost and time constraints Ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to reduce or avoid future costs in the delivery process or to reduce risks to live operations during an extended period of change Experience of defining and implementing data governance, security and privacy controls Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of technical and business stakeholders to align delivery plans with business needs, expectations and other inflight project initiatives - the ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders is essential for impact and influence Experience of Oracle, SQL Server, data integration and data modelling is essential for this role, with Azure, Databricks and SAS experience beneficial Experience of financial services industry, data reporting standards and collection regime is advantageous To work with us, you need to be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance.
