About the role The Specialist Palliative Care Service Nursing Unit Manager is responsible for the professional and operational management of nursing staff (and other relevant staff under their delegation) and coordinating the provision of palliative care in the in-patient and community settings.
The role includes leadership, planning, coordination and evaluation of the service.
Clinician engagement and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus.
The Local Health District (LHD) is committed to the strengthening and ongoing involvement and clinician engagement of staff that provide direct patient care in the planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of health services.
