UGL Regional Linx are currently looking for a Leading Hand to join our Track Team based in Orange, NSW.
The Leading Hand performs an integral role within our business as they are responsible for coordinating on-site teams to deliver works in accordance with plans, standards, and specifications whilst implementing and managing site safety.
This role will be working on a 9 day fortnight pattern, with working away from home requirements from time to time.Your role as a Leading Hand:As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of the rail network by managing teams on-site to ensure the condition of the track infrastructure is fit for purpose and safe for train operations.
Leading Hands are responsible for coordinating work and ensuring the team(s) achieve the daily preventative and corrective maintenance objectives.About you:Team oriented, accountable and results driven.Strong communication skills (written and oral).Proactively identifies and analyses risks and opportunities within the team.Sets and role models the behavioural standards within the team.Actively promotes the values and leads by example in the team.Ability to manage the team in a way that drives performance and ensures safety is held at the highest priority.Ability to communicate with stakeholders.Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and utilise new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process information and technology.Available to be on call.Your Experience:National competencies and previous experience in Track Maintenance (essential).Track Examination competencies (Track Certifier).Protection Officer.Track Vehicle Operator (Operate Hi-rail Vehicle) and Track Machine Operator.Rail Welding (desirable).Excavator Operator (desirable).Hold a current RIW card.White card.Class C Driver's licence essential (HR or HC preferred).Two to five years' experience in a similar role in the rail industry (desirable).Strong rail maintenance background and technical understanding.Intermediate computer literacy skills.Frontline Management qualifications and experience (desirable).What we offer:Diverse opportunities to grow, back yourself and achieve.Flexible working arrangements including a nine day fortnight.Ongoing training for career progression.A competitive remuneration package with employee assistance program for employees and their families, AIA Vitality wellness program and Discounts on private health insurance, vehicles, travel and more.About Us:UGL is well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services within rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water and defence markets.
