The Role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Pastry Chef who brings not only a high level of technical skill but also a genuine passion for pastry.
This role requires at least 5 years' experience in a fine dining or high-end kitchen environment, where you have developed a deep understanding of quality and consistency, with a flair for modern dessert presentation.
You will be leading a small pastry team and working directly with our Executive Chef, Sarahjane Brown (La Gavroche), and Head Chef, Hamish Waddel (M on the Bund), to create a memorable final course that complements our core menu.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire the pastry team to deliver consistently high-quality desserts that enhance our menu.
Develop and implement seasonal pastry offerings, showcasing creativity while aligning with Cafe Sydney's culinary vision.
Oversee all aspects of pastry production, including preparation, plating, and quality control.
Collaborate with the Executive and Head Chefs to maintain standards of presentation and ensure alignment with the restaurant's aesthetic and culinary goals.
Mentor junior team members, providing constructive feedback and promoting skill development.
