About the Role This is a five year fixed term SES 1 position The Director, People Operations is a key leadership role reporting to the Executive Director, People and Culture. This position is responsible for managing the operational and functional delivery of services within the People Operations branch of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). The Director will lead high-performing teams across critical functions including payroll services and assurance, people system governance, talent acquisition, and people reporting and analytics. This role is instrumental in enabling the effective utilization and continuous improvement of DTP's HR platforms, with a particular focus on HR operational functions and SAP SuccessFactors.
With extensive experience in HR platforms, payroll operations, and working within complex environments, the Director will oversee the development and implementation of the People Operations Branch plan, ensuring the department's services are delivered effectively, in compliance with statutory requirements, and aligned with strategic goals. As an executive leader of a team of 50+, the Director will have a direct impact on shaping the department's strategic vision while representing DTP in whole-of-government initiatives and policy development. This role offers the opportunity to influence the broader Victorian public sector transport portfolio and contribute to the continuous enhancement of DTP's HR operations.
