Specialist Intelligence Assessment Analyst

As an EL 1 specialist analyst in North Asia Branch, you will analyse information from a variety of sources, providing intelligence assessments to our customers to reduce uncertainty in their decision-making.
You will:Be empowered to be proactive and collaborative, to build and maintain vital relationships with a broad network of stakeholders across DIO, broader Defence, throughout Government and with international partners.Be highly aware of DIO's place in government and its primary goals, anticipating opportunities and proposing strategies to address them.Have access to unique and highly desirable training and professional development opportunities.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).

You will have a strong publication record in academia or government and deep experience in Australia's national security sector, including awareness of DIO's place in government.
You will have a demonstrated ability to analyse information from diverse sources; communicate your assessments in writing and verbally, mentor colleagues and transfer knowledge.These positions would suit self-motivated, intellectually curious individuals who demonstrate initiative, integrity, sound judgement and commitment to advancing Australia's national security interests.
You will leverage your deep subject matter expertise, experience, and professional networks to produce timely, relevant and insightful intelligence assessments that inform real-world strategic decision making.
