About the opportunityWe are expanding our Sunshine Coast operations significantly, to reflect the enormous State and Federal Government investment into the Sunshine Coast over the next 10-15 years.
As part of this growth, we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to coordinate on-site engineering functions relating to hard rock drill and blast tunnelling, to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities.
Responsibilities of the role includeManage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, including site engineers, project engineers and cost / planning resources.Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings.Produce accurate forecasts of costs and revenue.Participate in planning future requirements including machine tools, ancillary equipment, major plant and labour.Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work.To be successful in this key role, you must haveA bachelor's degree in civil engineering.5 years tunnelling experience, with experience with hard rock drill and blast tunnelling ideal.7-10+ years' postgraduate experience, ideally in a tier one contractor setting.Leadership ability to provide mentorship to direct reports.Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk.Demonstrated personal commitment to health and safety.What's in it for youWe're about connecting your sense of purpose to ours.
