Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
The Senior Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives within an assigned portfolio of indirect sourcing categories, which include Equipment and Facilities Management and a lead to assist with other indirect categories of goods and services as required.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Sydney.
Group Procurement operates a shared services model with a focus on providing specialist services across Downer's business units in an integrated, responsive and efficient manner.
The Senior Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager is a key advisor and reports to the Group Manager Strategic Sourcing - Category Management.
This integral role forms part of the Group Procurement leadership team, responsible for delivering a best-in-class procurement function for a large, diverse, and complex organisation.
Specific responsibilities include:
Development of category strategies Identification of cost-saving opportunities Facilitating and leading sourcing projects Management of spend data Establishment and maintenance of supplier relationships Qualifications:
Preferable: Post Graduate studies in Procurement, Logistics &/or Supply Chain Tertiary Qualified in a Business/Commercial related degree Experience in a large working environment is ideal 5 to 7 years of experience as a Procurement Category/Contracts/Commercial Role/s in Temp Labour/Labour Hire sourcing and Logistics category Good communication, presentation, and influencing skills Ability to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholder groups Ability to drive change across the business Downer offers employees a range of career support programs, wellbeing packages, and financial benefits, including:
