Senior Competency Specialist - Track & Civil The Senior Competency Specialist is a great opportunity to become an industry leader when it comes to Asset Management training.

The role is responsible for the development and delivery of best practice training content and material in Asset Management and leads a team of four Competency Specialists.

The Competency team plays a critical part in ensuring our V/Line employees and contractors in operational roles are trained and competent to safely and effectively perform their roles to comply with legislative and regulatory requirements, this means creating safe working spaces in line with rail safety law.

In this position, you will:
Coordinate and implement training with providers.
Support supervisors in monitoring employee skill development.
Lead vocational education and mentor trainers in Asset Management.
Deliver and assess training per RTO procedures and AQTF standards.
Develop and customize AQTF-compliant training resources.
Maintain and improve training and assessment materials.
Facilitate validation and moderation of assessment tools.
Support RTO in maintaining accreditation for Asset Management programs.
Lead a team to drive skill and technical training per AQTF requirements.
Travel to V/Line's regional hubs.
Requirements to Travel
This role requires travel to sites throughout regional Victoria.
It's a great way to get out to the regions and see our beautiful State

The successful candidate will be required to travel to V/Line's regional hubs (e.g., Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Warragul).
This will also give you the flexibility to be based from our major regional locations, in addition to our CBD office.

About you
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will bring the following:
Rail Experience:
Extensive experience in the rail industry and in leadership roles.
Advanced knowledge of track maintenance and construction.
Interpersonal Skills:
Highly developed communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
Training Experience:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) (essential).
Vocational qualification in an Asset Management discipline (e.g., Track and Civil, Structures, Safe Working).
Understanding of Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) levels.
