Fixed Term - Full time - 2 year contract Salary: Band 6 - $91,930 - $101,483 + superannuation Role includes an RDO We are looking for a Civil Design Engineer to carry out survey, design and prepare cost estimate of selected engineering projects.
Undertake investigations and feasibility studies of engineering projects as directed.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of the capital works program while providing technical advice and support across a diverse range of assets and projects. What you'll be working onUndertake feature surveys using Leica Robotic Total Station and GPS/GNSS.Contribute to project scoping, design development, estimation, and scheduling of works.Undertake feasibility assessments such as heritage, environmental and cultural considerations, and legislative requirements for the purposes of determining project scope, design development and estimation of works.Design of roads, drainage, car parks, laneways, shared paths, footpaths using 12d Model and AutoCAD.Provide technical advice and engineering solutions to identified problems, issues, or opportunities.Engage and manage multi-disciplinary consultant teams to achieve design objectives within budget expectations.Co-ordinate and liaise with other respective authorities and agencies for the purposes of contributing to feasibility investigations or works and project delivery.Monitor project plans to ensure objectives are being met and provide timely advice to the Team Leader on any anticipated delays affecting project commitments.What you need to succeedFormal tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar is required.Practical experience of engineering design in Local Government or related field is preferred.Professional membership of Engineers Australia is desirable.Current Victorian Driving License.Construction site safety induction (white) card.Why you should applyThis presents an excellent opportunity for an individual to engage in civil projects, actively contributing to the design and implementation of Capital Works Projects for Hobsons Bay.
