Principal Engineer

Based at our Newstead office ideally, however open to candidates across Australia with relevant experience, the Principal Engineer will directly support the Chief Engineer in undertaking their role, in particular by leading and participating in engineering projects and project components that require professional engineering oversight or input, and providing engineering advice/support to the Chief Engineer where necessary.
Key responsibilities of this role are: Review complex engineering materials, develop complex engineering calculations, assessments or simulations that will support the building of engineering capability at the NHVR and the improvement of safety and productivity of the heavy vehicle industry.Provide specialist engineering advice to the Chief Engineer, and other areas of NHVR as required, on heavy vehicle safety and productivity matters.Support the delivery of complex heavy vehicle engineering projects, project components and the resolution of technical issues in collaboration with Directors, Managers and project staff.Advise on the application of heavy vehicle standards, modifications, manufacturers' specifications and Design Rules in accordance with both national and international standards.Provide leadership and direction to the team and contribute to their development and growth.Assist the Chief Engineer in ensuring that advice and engineering input to projects, initiatives and processes is complete, accurate and reflects best practice.About You To be successful in this role you will possess:
