DescriptionAbout the RoleWith the growth in our business, we are looking to appoint a systems engineer to expand our team in Sydney. We are looking for a team member who has a passion for technology, loves playing in their home lab and who is continuously expanding their knowledge on Enterprise Servers, Storage, Networking, Cloud Infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Azure and Security.Our number one priority as a team is to meet our partners' and customer's expectations by delivering projects with exceptional quality and on-time by actively communicating with the stakeholders.You MUST be able to take on any task under pressure and take ownership of the outcome on-time.You will be working as a Senior technical resource who is involved in various project activities through a combination of on-site visits and/or working remotely for new installs, upgrades, customer migrations and ad-hoc project work.About YOUHighly organised and able to deal with performing several tasks/multiple projects simultaneouslyAn effective communicator and able to ask for assistance when needed.Analytical as well as have strong problem-solving and technical skillsEnthusiastic and passionate for all areas of IT and be committed to contributing to the growth of the business.Proactive, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignmentYou will be able to work as part of a team, as well on your own when assigned or own initiativeWillingness to work outside of business hours when requiredSkills & ExperienceMUST have soft skills:Present professionallyThrive in a highly challenging environmentPeople-person who presents very well in front of clientsTakes ownership to ensure the task is complete and does not push responsibility to othersTrustworthy and able to deliver autonomouslyEnjoys working with a team, always willing to assist othersCares to assist even when it is not your jobAlways puts in a big effortMUST have a reasonable level of experience in one or more:Servers and Storage arrays (HPE, Dell or others)VMware and Hyper-V, NutanixNetwork (Cisco, Palo Alto, HPE or others) and Firewalls (Sophos, Fortinet)Preparing as built and other documentsMUST have qualifications and experiences:Minimum 5 years in Networking and Systems AdministrationCurrent Microsoft certification or other related industry recognised or tertiary qualifications (MCSE/VMware/CCNP/RHCE or equivalent)Demonstrable experience in installing and upgrading VMware virtualisation environment (Vcenter, esxi hosts, VSAN, VCloud director and so on)Tertiary educationAzure/CCNA or other relevant experiences/certs.Infrastructure and network deployments and configurations (racking and stacking hardware in the datacentres, cable management, configuring them)Other MUST HAVE requirements:• Own a car to commute between customer sitesExamples of projects that this engineer will be involved with:Deploy Wireless solution: This work may comprise of configuring the firewalls, installing management software for managing the access points, physically going onsite to install the access points.Wireless survey: Visit site with the spectrum analyser to perform the survey, extract the details from the device and compile reports to be presented to the client.Upgrade virtualisation environment – Say VMware versions are to be upgraded from version X to Y. Plan, implement, upgrade, document and complete the project deliverables.Install switches, storage array, servers in racks within the datacentre and configure remote management, followed by remotely accessing those devices to complete the configurations – could be another project.Build new server, storage and network configurations to be deployed to a client – this may involve pre-building some of these in our office, then moving them to the relevant client location or the datacentre to complete the remaining tasks.Role Type
