As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance department by handling day-to-day financial transactions, assisting with record-keeping, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting and finance.

Department : Finance
Location : Sydney
Reports to : Assistant Finance Manager
Direct Reports : Nil
Key Accountabilities :
Regulatory Reporting; specifically Daily & Monthly client monies reconciliations and reporting.
Financial Reporting; including analysis and commentary for P&L and Balance Sheet.
Effective management and maintenance of all office operations and equipment, mailing and shipping.
Financial Record Maintenance; accurately record financial transactions in the accounting system (accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end journals), and ensure robust workpapers are in place to support the record.
Assist in preparing monthly management reports and summaries.
Assist with external audits.
Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Provide general administrative support to the accounting team.
Be an ambassador for Blueberry in the market :
Individually and with Managers, ensure understanding and engagement with vision, purpose, and strategic and stakeholder considerations at Manager and Team levels.
Demonstrate advanced levels of competence in leadership capabilities required of the position.

Desired Skills and Experience Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
1-3 years prior experience in an accounting role or internship is a plus but not required.
Basic skills of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) is advantageous.
Ability to learn and adapt to new accounting systems and tools.
