Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) is a commercial Statutory Authority constituted under the Water Act 2000 whose purpose is to supply bulk water to major consumers in the Gladstone Region.
GAWB manages a variety of assets ranging from major water storage to pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks, and water treatment plants.
The organisation is committed to protecting the quantity and quality of present and future water supplies and operates recreational facilities and fish fingerling production facilities.

About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrical Instrumentation and Control Technician is responsible for the ongoing planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance works of GAWB's electrical, instrumentation, control, SCADA, and PLC systems, focusing on water quality and supply.
About You
In this role, you will play a key part in the planned and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment and water storage buildings and reservoirs.
You will perform repair, installation, calibration, commissioning work, and statutory safety checks on existing and new equipment in accordance with plans, specifications, and directions provided, as well as the requirements outlined by Quality Assurance Systems and Australian Standards.
Part of the role involves working autonomously to fault find and repair complex control systems, such as PLC and SCADA.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to work unsupervised, and capable of prioritising individual workloads in conjunction with supervisors.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual who possesses the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
Dual Trade Qualification – Electrical Fitter Mechanic and Instrumentation Electrical Fitter Mechanic Licence Maintain a "C" Class Drivers Licence (Manual) HV Electrical switching certification or ability to obtain OHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card) First Aid Low Voltage (LV) Rescue and CPR Desirable Experience / Capabilities
Demonstrated knowledge of the Electrical Wiring rules, Electrical Codes of practice, and Electrical Safety Act Demonstrated knowledge of SCADA, Telemetry, and PLC systems (Allen Bradley) Troubleshooting, problem-solving, and a proven track record of fault finding on electrical and instrumentation systems Demonstrated understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems relating to Water Treatment Working knowledge of installation, maintenance, and calibration of flow measuring Well-developed written and oral communication skills, ability to complete documentation, reports, and records updating Sound customer service skills To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter online by clicking on the apply button below.
