About the OrganisationThe Australian Ballet is one of the world's leading national ballet companies and a globally recognised Australian major performing arts organisation.
Each year, the company presents upwards of 220 performances through its main stage seasons in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, and Perth, along with public programs, special events, an extensive regional tour, a Children's Ballet, Education programs, and regular overseas tours.Orchestra Victoria (OV) provides pit services for ballet and opera in Victoria and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Australian Ballet.
The Australian Ballet and Orchestra Victoria have an annual turnover of more than $70 million and employ over 265 staff.
About the RoleThe Head of Audience Growth will lead innovative strategies to attract new audiences, enhance engagement, and foster long-term relationships with The Australian Ballet's audience base.
This newly created role focuses on driving data-led initiatives, innovative ticketing and pricing strategies, and audience growth initiatives to retain loyal subscribers, deepen engagement with existing audiences, and expand the reach to new and diverse communities.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Brand, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of audience engagement for one of Australia's leading arts organisations.
Skills & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Arts Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related fieldExtensive demonstrated experience in audience development, marketing initiatives, and sales and ticketing strategiesProven track record of successful ticketing/sales campaigns and audience growth and engagement initiatives in medium to large scale organisationsDemonstrated experience in leading teams, particularly customer-facing employeesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skillsProficiency in ticketing tools, Tessitura preferredCreative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for the artsDiversity and InclusionAt The Australian Ballet, diversity and inclusion are integral to our mission to create an extraordinarily vibrant and successful company and to present performances that represent Australian culture at its best.
