Consultant Level Transport Planner/Engineer – PerthPJA is one of the leading independent transport, engineering, and placemaking specialists in Australia and the UK, with two offices in Australia and six in the UK.We provide specialist advice on a wide range of projects across Australia, UK, and beyond from new neighborhoods and urban regeneration schemes to preparing strategies, policies, and guidelines.We are seeking a well-rounded Transport Planning/Engineering Consultant to join our team in Perth, who can help us to meet the growing portfolio of exciting projects.Our ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or above with experience in transport planning/engineering in either a private sector consultancy or public sector environment. They should have experience of working as part of a team on small to medium-sized transport planning commissions with both public and private sector clients. They will be a confident communicator verbally and in writing, required to present and communicate their ideas clearly and concisely both internally and also to a wide range of external audiences.Depending on experience level, our ideal candidates will also have some, but not necessarily all, of the following alongside a strong motivation to learn and develop skills in the movement of people and goods:Experience in public sector facing transport planning projects (such as movement strategies, regeneration projects, preparation of studies to support transport planning/engineering)Experience in the production of, and providing advice regarding, transport strategies and policiesExperience in private sector development planning projects including the production of transport assessmentsBasic experience/understanding of traffic modeling with a technical background and knowledge of softwareExcellent communication skills and interface with clientsKnowledge of data analysis techniques, and experience in interrogation, analysis, and presentation mindful of the needs of different audiencesThe ability to undertake focused, problem-solving tasks with an appropriate degree of independence to arrive at solutions to often complex challengesAn understanding of the planning process in Western Australia, and experience of applying WA government policy and guidance to projects.As a member of the PJA team, you can expect:An attractive and modern working environment with good accessibility by all modes of transportThe opportunity to progress quickly within the firmA wide range of challenging projectsApproved training schemes and development opportunities at a pace and direction that suit youOngoing support, training, and mentoring from senior professionals within the business with a real commitment from senior management towards personal and professional developmentWe also offer an attractive benefits package that includes:Ability to purchase additional days leaveFlexible working arrangements to allow some working from home as needed and agreed with managementIf this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, then we would love to hear from you.
