We also offer customized, integrated solutions for protection system design, automation, control, and communication, tailored to our clients' needs.About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Lead Distribution Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in our Perth CBD office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in power engineering and will be responsible for managing the production of project deliverables for distribution projects ranging from 240V to 33kV, both overhead and underground.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop designs, deliverables, and resource schedules for overhead and underground projects.Prepare and check feasibility studies, outline and detailed design technical reports, and other documentation.Design and review detailed construction design drawings.Produce design concepts, specifications, and other technical documents.Maintain regular communication with Western Australia-based utility clients, including Western Power, Horizon Power, BHP, Rio Tinto, and DoT.Lead and mentor graduate and junior engineers.Assist the Manager (WA Distribution) in managing resources effectively.Deliver comprehensive overhead lines engineering, including PnW modeling, conductor selection, construction drawings, and supporting documentation.What You Need to SucceedEngineer - Minimum BEng / BSc in Electrical Engineering with Power / utility background with CPENG or on the pathway of obtaining CPENG.Designer – Minimum 10 years utility experience or similar background. Leadership experience desired.Experience with electricity distribution networks, particularly with Western Power and Horizon Power.Proficiency in GIS, design, and drafting software.Experience in preparing designs, material lists, estimating connection costs, and securing customer approvals.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders.A project management and service delivery mindset.A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Why Join Us?At APD, you will have the opportunity to learn from a large team of specialists, use state-of-the-art software and tools, and explore various roles within the power engineering and telecommunications industry.APD is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
