Permanent full-time opportunity (35 hours per week) Office location – The Rocks, Sydney Salary relative to experience and ranges from $120,859 to $133,183 + super Our Placemaking NSW (PMNSW) team are currently seeking to appoint a Portfolio Asset Manager, Leasing & Place Management to join our collaborative and friendly team.
The role
This role offers a unique opportunity to manage some of Sydney's most iconic waterfront precincts, including The Rocks, Darling Harbour, and Barangaroo.
As a government agency, our portfolio is more than just leasing; it involves full-scale precinct management, blending commercial insight with public value.
You'll navigate diverse priorities and stakeholders, balancing public and private sector interests while maintaining a strong focus on exceptional visitor experience.
Collaboration is key, as you'll liaise and coordinate with teams across leasing, property management, design and place, heritage, and facilities to ensure seamless precinct management and accurate reporting that meets government objectives.
Ideal for someone ready to expand their property expertise, this position offers exposure to PMNSW diverse portfolio across its precincts.
What you will bring to the role
Your experience with complex leases, particularly under the Retail Leases Act and ground leases, with a strong understanding of precinct-wide management.
Proven communication and collaboration skills to work within a team and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across public and private sectors.
Analytical strengths for managing budgets and complex leases and providing detailed reporting to support decision-making and financial accuracy.
Knowledge of building and property maintenance, and civil and public domain infrastructure work processes.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment, ensuring seamless precinct operations and high-quality project/lease outcomes.

Placemaking NSW (PMNSW) is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney's most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour and White Bay Power Station.
As the owner and manager of The Rocks and Darling Harbour and manager of the public domain at Barangaroo, PMNSW has a substantial number of direct commercial relationships in place with more than 450 retail and commercial tenants and stallholders.
PMNSW undertakes a range of activities, either directly or in partnership with other organisations, intended to provide a holistic approach to placemaking.
