This is a thirty (30) month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP with possible permanency.
The Intergovernmental Relations directorate is responsible for coordinating and providing timely, high quality strategic advice on Commonwealth-State education matters.
The directorate coordinates the Department's interactions with the Commonwealth Government and other states and territories through national forums such as Education Ministers Meeting and the Australian Education Senior Officials Committee, while also developing and managing responses to high-priority issues, such as funding policies and national agreements.
Additionally, it supports the Department's input into broader State responses for National Cabinet, parliamentary committees and international reports.
The Role As Policy Officer, you will provide administrative support to the effective and efficient coordination and management of a range of activities related to Commonwealth and State initiatives and meetings.
You will assist in coordinating activities and logistics which support key state and national decision-making forums regarding education.
Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining effective and efficient business processes and continuous improvement mechanisms to ensure quality and responsive outcomes are achieved.
You will also assist with reporting by identifying and monitoring key issues and trends related to Commonwealth and State relations.
