Sydney Southwest Private Hospital is seeking a senior perioperative clinical nurse educator to join their team.
This position will work in consultation with the perioperative services management team and be responsible for meeting the educational requirements of the department in line with ACORN and national healthcare standards.
As a Perioperative Clinical Nurse Educator your responsibilities will include: Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, you will take on a leadership role in providing hands-on educational support and clinical teaching/facilitation to graduate nurses & students.
You will integrate theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new employees and experienced staff.
You will utilise system strategies and tools to assess competence of new nursing staff members, whilst contributing to quality and safety initiatives across the department.
In this role, you will also attend relevant policy & procedure meetings, ward meetings and bi-monthly Education Meetings.
Sydney Southwest Private Hospital has seven state-of-the-art theatres, with Gynaecology, General, Endocrine Surgery, Endoscopy, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Thoracics, Plastics and Urology specialties performed in the theatre suite.

Current AHPRA RegistrationPost Graduate Qualification in perioperative nursing or clinical education (desirable)Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE) (or working towards)Thorough knowledge of ACORN standards and current legislation5+ years clinical experience in perioperative nursingDemonstrated experience in eLearning platformsProven communication and interpersonal skillsHigh degree of computer literacy including MS OfficeExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsFor further enquiries contact: Sane Mahla, Perioperative Services Manager on or
