We are currently seeking a Curator and Assistant Curator to fill temporary 12-month contracts.
About these opportunities: Artspace Mackay is a leading Queensland regional art gallery responsible for the Mackay Regional Council Art Collection and an ambitious exhibition program that aims to share visual arts with people of all ages and abilities.
In consultation with the Artspace Director, the Curator and Assistant Curator will: lead and prepare research, planning and presentation of in-house curated and touring exhibitions; identify exhibition and collection opportunities; and assist in all aspects of collection management.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Tertiary qualifications in arts or curatorial studies.QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.Post graduate qualifications in arts or curatorial studies will be highly regarded.Demonstrated practical experience working in a curatorial role in a public gallery or museum with knowledge of current exhibition design, installation and curatorial best-practice.Demonstrated literacy, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise with various stakeholders, such as artists and volunteers.In return, you will join a dynamic and collaborative team as well as benefiting from: Base hourly rate range of $39.65 - $48.07 (level/position offered will be contingent on your experience and qualifications).11.5% superannuation.Choice of 4 or 5 weeks' annual leave with 17.5% leave loading (pro rata basis).RDO with Any 5 out of 7 roster.May be eligible for salary sacrificing options.Learning and career development opportunities.Employee Assistance Program.Employee health and wellbeing initiatives.Active Social Clubs.How to apply: Prepare and submit your cover letter and resume, outlining your relevant experience for this role.
