R&D Chemist, Hair Care, Skincare

Botany is seeking a highly skilled R&D Chemist, specialising in hair care and skincare product formulation, to join our dynamic team in Laverton North, Victoria.
Working in a full-time capacity, you will play a key role in developing new and innovative beauty products for a diverse Australian and international client base.
What you'll be doing Stay up to date with the latest industry regulations, guidelines, and best practicesConduct thorough research and analysis to identify new trends, ingredients, and formulations in the hair care and skincare industriesDevelop and test new product formulations, ensuring they meet high quality standards and regulatory requirementsPerform comprehensive product testing and evaluation to ensure optimal performance, stability, and safetyProvide expert technical support and guidance to the production and marketing teamsContribute to the continuous improvement of our existing product line through reformulation and improvement of existing formulas.Preparation of laboratory scale batches for the purpose of formulation and development, client samples and all testing.Interpret client requirements for new products, prepare samples and documentation.Implement product stability protocols.
Follow up on stability results.Develop, write, and review product specifications, test sheets, master formula and manufacturing instructions.Responsible for up scaling of new formulations to full scale production.Work collaboratively with production to solve manufacturing issues quickly.Preparation of technical documents.Comply with company procedures and policies, GMP and all safety regulations both in laboratory & manufacturing area.Ability to work in a cross functional team-based environment.Ability to deliver against project deadlines.Provide technical support to clients.Coordinate with external laboratories for testing.What we're looking for Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related fieldMinimum 3-5 years of experience in research and development within the hair care or skincare industryStrong understanding of product formulation, testing, and regulatory complianceExperience in formulation and development of emulsions, suspensions, creams, lotions, washes etc.Outstanding technical skills with extensive knowledge of R&D standardsExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholdersKeen attention to detail and a commitment to qualityPassion for innovation and a deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies in the industryWhat we offer At Botany, we are committed to providing our employees with a rewarding and fulfilling work experience.
