Apply now Job no: 501120 Work type: Permanent Location: Mackay Categories: Clinical Nursing/Midwifery, All other Position: Quality & Safety AssociateDuration: Permanent Full-TimeSalary: Competitive package offered commensurate experience________________________________________________________________________________________Applications are sought for a Quality & Safety Associate at the Mater Private Hospital Mackay.About the roleThe Quality & Safety Associate ("QSA") is responsible for activities as delegated relating to Quality and Clinical Safety Management, and accreditation, across the hospital/service, which are essential to the licensing, service level agreements and contracts.What you'll be doingProvide support to Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager and clinical department managers to implement quality and risk management systems and improve quality and safety outcomes;Provide support to Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager and department managers in incident and complaint investigation and coordinate actions to prevent recurrence;Support/ facilitate the implementation of innovation and systems improvement that eliminate/reduce patient harm;Work collaboratively with other clinicians to facilitate process improvement strategies that support patient safety and the achievement of quality and safety goals;Collect and analyse patient safety and clinical outcome data to evidence the effectiveness of the quality and safety system;Support the Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager to improve the effectiveness of the quality system and monitor compliance with policies, the implementation of corrective and preventive actions and survey recommendations;Work in collaboration with the Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager and Hospital Leadership Team to coordinate the implement recommendations arising from root cause analysis or other system or case review;Provide education / training related to quality and safety, incident investigation and management and the use of Incident reporting tools as required;Other informationThis full-time role will be performed Monday to Friday with an expectation that hours are across 4 to 5 days, however, may vary depending on operational need. Mater recognises the importance of work-life balance and can accommodate flexible work arrangements where possible.We offer a competitive salary plus superannuation and not for profit salary packaging of up to $15900 per annum.About you• Qualifications in a related disciplineDesired qualifications• A clinical background with at least 5 years front line experience; and intermediate or advanced skills using the Microsoft Office suite.Experience• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health service delivery with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience and skills is essential including a basic understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of the hospital;• Experience in health care accreditation and regulatory requirements;• Demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives and their practical application in the achievement of customer service/ delivery needs;• Demonstrated experience in advanced analytical skills to trend and interpret data and provide reports on data / information used for projects, evaluation and process improvement activities;• Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieve identified outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Mater Group is dedicated to creating a workplace that values diversity and inclusion.
