Our mission is to improve the health of millions of people worldwide.Full Time Opportunity1 year contractHybrid working environmentSalary Range of $81,868 to $87,966 Base (dependent on experience, skills and capabilities) plus 11.5% Superannuation + Smart Salary Packaging Benefit.The Opportunity:This role supports research projects in the Brain Health Program, which brings together researchers across multiple disciplines to develop the evidence, tools and treatments for diseases such as stroke and dementia, which account for 10% of the global burden of disease.The Research Assistant is required to support the research and advocacy work of the Brain Health Program, primarily supporting a new project to assess the feasibility of a novel diagnostic method to treat patients with intracerebral haemorrhage in the pre-hospital ambulance setting, to be conducted in Australia in collaboration with similar projects in China, Germany, Canada, and other countries.
Support of other clinical trial stroke research projects may also be required.Key Responsibilities and Duties:Collating study materials and drafting copy for peer-reviewed journal articles relating to the above workProvide administrative and technical support to study teamConduct literature searches and assist with the preparing of grant applicationsAssist with ethics applications and documentationCommunicate with study sites and respond to queriesAssist with study tracking and documentationAssist in the distribution of study documents to investigatorsAssist with planning and organising of regular meetingsAssist with the preparation of study-related presentation materialsAssist with maintain up to date participating centres' information (including all contact details, contracts and reports)Data entry, ensuring data quality, accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data completionPreparing paperwork required by the study and any study materialsAssist in managing effective communication with the key stakeholders (participants, clinicians and investigators)Assist with the preparation of reports and publications about the study as requiredActively participate in project, research and program meetingsAs we are a global organisation, engage with colleagues and stakeholders in other regions relative to the responsibilities of the role, accommodating global time zones where required, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.Our Successful Candidate will possess:Tertiary qualifications in medicine, medical science or related healthcare disciplineExperience in clinical trialsExperience in quantitative research methodologiesStrong quantitative research skillsExcellent written language communication skills and ability to draft a wide range of documentsExcellent organisational skills, having the ability to organise, take initiative and follow up independentlyExcellent interpersonal skills to foster collaborations across a range of health professional stakeholdersMethodical and systematic, with good attention to detailProficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the InternetAbility to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational prioritiesStrong focus on quality of work.Flexibility to work non-standard hours of work for collaboration and contact with global teams based on requirements of the positionExperience working in acute hospital and/or ambulance settingExperience in stroke and/or neurologyPost graduate qualifications in medical science or healthcare disciplineProficient in Chinese Mandarin language to facilitate harmonisation of protocols with colleagues in ChinaThe closing date for applications is Thursday 14 November 2024 at 11:59pm AEST.The unrestricted right to work in Australia is a requirement for this position.
