As our "Senior Safety Advisor," you will play a key dynamic part in taking the business forward by fostering the safety culture and supporting safety standards in Melbourne to a high standard.
The Senior Safety Advisor will also support our operations with hazard identification and risk management, assurance programs, emergency response, and supporting incident investigations and continual improvement.
This role plays a crucial part in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring a secure and healthy work environment for all.
You must have the ability to travel to meet all planned activities, respond to all ad hoc travel requests, and have the ability to work variable hours from time to time (including early starts, late finishes, and weekends) where required.
Your Experience and Competencies Essential - Experience in a workplace safety role, or similar profession.
Desirable - Direct aviation ground operations experience.
Working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand aviation regulations, and airport and airline operational policies and procedures.
Understanding of WH&S framework, practices, and principles.
Contractor Management experience.
Deliver safety induction training to managers.
Advanced Microsoft Office and Database applications skills.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and be self-motivated.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Capability to travel domestically and internationally.
It is essential to have the following tertiary qualifications: Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent.
Incident investigation.
Quality Auditing.
Risk Management.
Working knowledge with ISO.

Customer orientation – accurately anticipates emerging and current clients/customers' needs and establishes/maintains positive relationships.
Apply sound time management judgment in relation to prioritizing work and meeting deadlines.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.
Influence staff, supervisors, and management to implement safety improvement strategies and initiatives, and to solve safety problems.
Coach management and your team where appropriate on safety, security, and environment-related matters and initiatives.
Identify and manage key dependencies between the Management systems and operational Safety Advisory function and other safety functions to ensure adequate cross-functional support and alignment where appropriate.
