This pivotal role will require a highly skilled professional to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.You'll play a crucial role in managing our financial operations across Australia and New Zealand. This includes financial processing, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance. You'll also mentor and develop our finance team to maintain high standards and knowledge sharing.What you'll doBusiness Partnering:Collaborate closely with Asset Management Teams in Australia and New Zealand to identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities for revenue generation and cost reduction.Partner with the Group CFO, Deputy Chairman, and other key stakeholdersPrepare and review timely and accurate monthly management reports for ANZIdentify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to strengthen reporting.Collaborate with Asset Managers to prepare and present monthly financial updates.Budgeting and Compliance:Develop and oversee annual property budgets, fostering collaboration across finance, asset management, lease administration, and facilities management.Oversee the month-end financial closing process, including P&L review and balance sheet reconciliation and conduct annual property outgoings auditsEnsure compliance with Australian and New Zealand GST/BAS regulationsTeam Leadership and Development:Develop and support team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.What you'll bringAccounting and Finance: Strong foundation in accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.Financial Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and financial modelling tools.Data Analysis: Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and interpret results.Compliance: Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand tax regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations, financial metrics, and strategic planning.Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a positive work environment and driving performance.Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.Financial Reporting: Experience in preparing and analysing financial reports, including management accounts and statutory financial statements and experience in developing and managing budgets.What We Can Offer YouExposure to key senior stakeholders and opportunities across one of Australia's largest Private Businesses with continuing growthHybrid role with career progression, personal development, and mentoringA culture that rewards initiative and creativityBenefits – Discounts across all brands, EAP, Gym Membership Discounts and moreWho We AreSpotlight Property Group (SPG) manages the Group's large and rapidly growing portfolio of direct property holdings and leases across Australia and New Zealand.Spotlight Group Holdings (SGH) is a privately held $3bn+ Australian parent company which controls, operates and invests in a diverse set of businesses and assets.SGH is one of Australia's largest privately-owned and operated family business, comprising of the Spotlight Retail Group, the Spotlight Property Group, Spotlight Group Investments, Spotlight Direct Investments and the Spotlight Charitable Foundation.Comprising of the long term existing iconic brands in Spotlight, Anaconda and Mountain Designs, together with the exciting addition of Harris Scarfe, SRG is acknowledged as market leaders within the Australian retail space.To apply, please complete our online application form and submit an up-to-date resume and cover letter.You must have unrestricted working rights in Australia to be considered for this positionOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted
