This could range from a one-off harm reduction session, right through to long-term case management.
The role contributes to a world-class harm reduction program and is an outpost role which will be based at various residential sites across Metropolitan Melbourne.
The role will have a strong focus on supporting clients at our Launch Housing East St Kilda site which is one of the only crisis services in Victoria to employ and accommodate women (including trans and gender diverse individuals who identify as female).
As such, only candidates who are women or who identify as female will be considered.
This is a permanent part-time role, 68.4 hours per fortnight.
What you'll be doing: Support a self-determined caseload of voluntary clients to identify and achieve AOD related goals.Complete AOD screening/assessment tools, and support clients in accessing residential and community-based support services.Develop Individual Treatment Plans (ITP's) collaboratively with clients.Support complex clients through the life of their treatment plan.Provide harm-reduction based information sessions to at risk clients.Provide education and training sessions to staff of Launch Housing.Provide secondary consults to Launch Housing staff and external agencies.Contribute to the ongoing operation of a (secondary) Needle and Syringe Program (NSP), and a world-class harm-reduction program.What we're looking for (key selection criteria): Have a relevant tertiary qualification which meets the minimum standard qualifications to work in the AOD Sector (eg.
Certificate IV in AOD or AOD competencies) or a willingness to obtain these qualifications.Demonstrated experience in client facing human services, social work or other relevant discipline, with a preference for an understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems.An understanding of AOD treatments and interventions, including knowledge of the different types of public AOD services available.An understanding of AOD theories, including harm minimisation and problematic substance combinations.An understanding of trauma informed practice and the individual and structural relationships between trauma, substance dependence, and homelessness.High degree of initiative, communication, and analytical skills, including well-developed organisational and time-management skills.Experience or training in facilitating group work (desirable).Full Victorian Drivers Licence (mandatory).Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.Salary: $44.37 an hour + Superannuation + Additional well-being leave + Salary packaging benefits
