You will provide technical expertise to support and enhance the university's IT environment. You will contribute to the development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications and services that align with UTS's strategic goals.These roles offer the opportunity to work within an agile team, leveraging your technical skills to design, configure, and optimise technology solutions that elevate the end-user experience and ensure the smooth operation of systems across the university.A Day in the Life of a Software Engineer at UTSDevelop, deploy, and maintain software applications, ensuring their compatibility, security, and accessibility for users.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to provide uninterrupted services and support for UTS systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and integrate solutions that align with business objectives.Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to contribute to team success.Follow DevSecOps practices by integrating development, security, and operations methodologies using CI/CD pipeline tools.Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for knowledge sharing.Provide input on technology enhancements, contributing to the evaluation and integration of new features.Assist with the training and empowerment of users, ensuring they can maximise the benefits of UTS's technology.Stay updated on emerging technologies and offer insights to improve system capabilities and operational efficiency.What You'll Need to SucceedServiceNow Platform Expertise – In-depth knowledge of core modules (ITSM, ITOM), scripting (Business Rules, UI Actions), and development tools (Studio).JavaScript & Scripting – Proficiency in both server-side (GlideRecord, GlideAjax) and client-side scripting (Client Scripts, UI Policies).ServiceNow Integrations & Integration Hub – Expertise in integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST, SOAP APIs, MID Server, and Integration Hub for seamless workflows and automated integrations.Catalog Items, Portals & Workspaces – Expertise in designing and configuring Service Catalog items, customizing Employee Self-Service (ESS) portals, and creating Workspaces for tailored user experiences.CMDB, Discovery & Service Mapping – Strong understanding of CMDB, managing CI relationships, Discovery, and Service Mapping to accurately model and track IT infrastructure and services.HRSD (Human Resources Service Delivery) – Experience in implementing HRSD solutions, including Case Management, Knowledge Management, Employee Service Center, and HR Integrations.Update Sets, Deployment & Upgrades – Expertise in Update Sets, deployment best practices, managing ServiceNow upgrades, and using the Automated Test Framework (ATF) to ensure smooth transitions across instances.Remuneration & BenefitsA competitive and comprehensive remuneration package will be offered.
