With a content portfolio like no other media organisation in the country, SBS occupies multiple channels and platforms, and provides a unique opportunity for employees to help make Australia a better place to live.At SBS, we embrace difference and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.We also acknowledge the unique contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples make to our society and our workplace through their enduring and continued connection to land, sea, sky and community.About UsSBS is one of the world's most unique and innovative media organisations, producing trusted, meaningful and engaging content that exists for all Australians to inspire, support and celebrate the diversity of our multicultural society.Our purpose, for over 49 years, has reflected and explored the evolving diversity of Australia, investing in initiatives to deepen connections with communities, sharing their stories and giving a voice to those often unheard, with the aim of increasing understanding and respect of the differences that make up Australia.SBS is a truly distinctive network, showcasing multicultural, multilingual and First Nations stories otherwise untold in the Australian media.The RoleAs a vital member of the Corporate Communications team, the Corporate Communications Manager owns, develops and delivers high quality communications programs which promote SBS's purpose and support the delivery of the SBS Strategic Plan.Reporting into the Head of Corporate Communications, this role will see you doing the following:Providing trusted and strategic communications advice, support, information and counsel to the SBS senior executive team and other stakeholders across key divisions including News and Current Affairs (NACA) and Technology.Driving positive awareness of SBS's reputation through developing and delivering strong media relations, issues management, risk mitigation, and proactive strategic communications activity.Identifying and managing reputational risks, including development of crisis management communications plans and liaising with media.Preparing written and oral communications for external and internal audiences, as well as overseeing and managing the corporate SBS website and the execution of the SBS corporate strategy for LinkedIn.Collaborating with the SBS Government, Policy & Regulatory Affairs team on key projects and initiatives such as Parliamentary engagements, Senate Estimates preparations and Board reports.About you8+ years in communications or related area, with a political, communications, journalism or editorial background highly regarded, including the ability to cope with pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills and outstanding stakeholder engagement skills.Strong strategic/critical thinking and demonstrated ability to identify, develop and deliver communications campaigns and/or opportunities which effectively support an organisation's strategic objectives.Experience in media liaison and understanding of the Australian media landscape, including demonstrated experience in managing reputational issues in a timely manner, remaining calm and effective.Some of the reasons to consider working with us:The people
