About the department:
Palliative Care Services, based at the Olivia Newton-John Centre, provides specialist palliative care to patients with cancer and any other life limiting illness. This includes via a 24-bed specialist inpatient Palliative Care Unit, a Palliative Care Consultancy service to the acute inpatients of the Austin Hospital, a specialist Palliative Care Clinic, a Palliative Care acute community inreach services (with visits to patients' residence or residential aged care facility), and liaising with Community Palliative Care Service providers.
About the role:
Hours per week: 40 hrs permanent. A combination of multiple candidates will be considered.

Additional notes: Includes community inreach services, some Saturday shifts and other workload as allocated as per the position description
As a Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultant you must:
Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Hold a Post Graduate qualification in palliative care nursing or equivalent
Have significant specialist Palliative Care experience with experience in a senior nursing role
Have evidence of a committment to excellence in the care of Palliative Care patients, with demonstrated understanding of the care and management in an inpatient, ambulatory and community setting
Have excellent organisation, time management skills and attention to detail
Have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Be able to demonstate analytical and problem solving ability
Have an ability to work collaboratively, as a team member and autonomously to meet patient needs and the goals of the unit
Have experience in utilising information technology to optimise patient care, including electronic medical record systems, clinical systems and business software
