Flight Operations ManagerPerth, Western Australia Reach Beyond CHC Helicopter is a leader in the provision of helicopter support to the offshore energy market, search & rescue, and government departments, as well as organizations requiring helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul services through its Heli-One division.

We have an opportunity for a talented Flight Operations Manager (FOM) to join our team in West Perth, WA.
The FOM is responsible for the day-to-day management of all Business and Operations activities associated with Flight Operations and the Pilot group.
The FOM will work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all operations associated with the Pilot group will meet all legislative, regulatory and contract requirements while providing a service and support that is productive and efficient.
Responsibilities:A visible safety champion who will challenge unsafe acts and pursue improvements in safety culture and behaviourDevelop highly effective and productive relationships with the Pilot group, the Flight Operations team, key stakeholders whether they are internal (at a global, regional and in country level and particularly with the regional management team and employees) and externally (regulators, customers and suppliers)Act as "problem solver" with the commercial team, base management teams, Regional Operations Control Centre team and Contract Manager for any operational issues.Deliver effective cost control of the Pilot group through effective planning, scheduling, monitoring and administration in line with current and future requirementsManage pilot headcount in line with contractual requirements, including recruiting and onboarding.Participate and influence pilot EA negotiations, provide operational context and adviceInteract frequently with the ROCC to ensure medium and long terms crew scheduling is in accordance with the goals of the region and aligned with client expectationsInteract daily with the local short term planner(s) and travel staff to ensure all short and immediate term crew scheduling operates effectively and in line with regulatory compliance, customer conformance and cost minimisationProvide day-to-day direction to the pilot group in line with CHC polices & proceduresManage and monitor the remuneration changes for transfers, upgrades and departures.Respond and resolve conflicts and disciplinary issues on the base in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of their employmentSkills and Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience within an Aviation environment, workforce planning or scheduling environmentMinimum of 2 years' experience in the aviation industry with operational experience to include flying, engineering or business operations requiredRobust relationship building skills with the ability to adapt to environments and peopleVerbal and written communication skills along with a sense of resilienceOperationally focused with sufficient working knowledge of contract terms and conditionsAbility to negotiate and influence effectivelyAttributes/Behaviours:Ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong initiative with a hands-on approach in addressing day to day issuesProven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written on all employee queries.Ability to multitask in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, high-volume environmentHigh level of numerical analysis skills and the ability to articulate clear conclusions and recommendationsAbility to handle complex issues and provide recommendations for solutionsA flexible and adaptable approach to deliver business goals and objectives.At CHC we believe a diverse workforce makes us stronger.
