Business Development Manager, M&A SpecialistEDL owns and operates a global portfolio of power stations in Australia, North America, and Europe.
EDL is playing a key role in the world's transition from traditional energy sources to decarbonised solutions.
Their purpose is to provide better energy solutions for the benefit of our world.
With around 600 employees globally, EDL is making a difference in protecting the world's environment.
EDL is experiencing a period of significant change and growth and is therefore seeking a Business Development Manager who can effectively manage organic development and M&A opportunities.
This role is crucial in driving growth in alignment with EDL's strategy and reinforcing its reputation as a global leader in sustainable distributed energy.
Reporting to the Head of Growth – Clean Energy, key deliverables include:
Driving M&A project management processes including due diligence, valuations, scoping, closing and integrationAnalysis and researching activities required to assess strategic impact and risk of M&A opportunitiesIdentifying potential new clients to partner with, and infrastructure projects and locationsEffectively leading and supporting strategic studies, investigating marketplaces and being across industry trendsCo-ordinating inter-disciplinary inputs and third-party consulting effortsNegotiating and concluding organic and inorganic projects with clients and key partnersEnsuring project milestones are met whilst adhering to approved project budgetsMaintaining knowledge of day-to-day market developments and accurately assessing the opportunities providedPlanning the development strategy to produce market penetration of EDL's products and services into appropriate market segments.To excel in this pivotal position you will have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance or legal disciplinesA proven track record in originating, negotiating, developing, and closing infrastructure dealsA working knowledge of Australian infrastructure, energy or M&A markets and awareness of the competitive landscape and market rules, regulations, and key playersStrong financial modelling and valuation experienceExperience in managing M&A bids or interest in developing this skillMarket assessment, risk analysis and strategic planningComplex contract negotiation skills and experience dealing with legal agreements and liaising with legal advisorsExperience in sourcing, building, and managing strong industry and customer relationshipsConfidence to establish credibility and work with Executive Leadership teams and joint venture partnersInitiative, drive, a curious nature and sense of humour.On offer is a market competitive salary package, professional development, flexible work arrangements and the chance to work with a supportive and successful organisation that understands the true value of communications and engagement.
