Full Time Fixed Term Position - Until November 2025 Band 5 - Salary Range $78,646 to $90,563 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience. The Opportunity Melton City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to optimise the wellbeing and resilience of young people aged 12 - 25 years and their families through the identification, design, establishment, and delivery of inclusive, adaptable, and accessible programs.
You will be responsible for establishing and maximising relationships with organisations to improve outcomes for young people and advocate for their needs.
As a Youth Development & Support Officer within the Young Communities services unit, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating a range of educational, recreational and youth consultation programs targeted at young people, in response to identified needs within the municipality.
Reporting to the Team Leader Development and Support, you will provide information, support and referral services to young people, their families and support networks, whilst facilitating fun and engaging programs.
Key Responsibilities Engage and work with young people that may require further short-term assistance and support.
This includes delivering Council's Outreach programs, in accordance with the agreed service model to young people (12-25 years of age) and the Community, including the provision of crisis support, making referrals and undertake assessments of young people and/or their families. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a range of youth programs, services and events that address the needs of young people within the municipality. Undertake and be accountable for program administrative tasks; including the development of program proposals and evaluations, case notes, and case files of support work completed with young people and families, program budgets and maintaining accurate records and statistical information. Provide information, resources, and where appropriate referral, to young people and their families to enable them to make informed decisions and make full use of resources and services available within the community. About you To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Development and Welfare or a related discipline with relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in the development, facilitation, and evaluation of a wide range of programs and activities for young people. Proven ability to engage young people and motivate and encourage active youth participation. Demonstrated experience implementing projects and achieving outcomes within budget and timeframes. Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence. Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
