Other locations may be considered Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Community First Development, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) will be responsible for supporting the CEO in the development of strategic, financial and operational business planning and performance, and the management of day-to-day operations, people and resources.
The DCEO is also responsible for ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide authoritative advice to the Chief Executive Officer on operations, policy and planning and all other matters that may affect the delivery of community development, research and culturally cognizant communications. Support the Chief Executive Officer to maintain and strengthen Community First Development's external high level relationships including government, community, national and international stakeholders. As part of Community First Development's leadership team, participate in and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making. Ensure quality assurance and consistency for all outgoing strategic and conceptual briefs, reports, submissions and papers and commentary from Community First Development. Provide high level leadership and direction to the General Managers in implementing Community First Development's strategic direction. In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, support the development of strategic and business planning processes, aligning policy review and development priorities and resources to support Community First Development's objectives and outcomes. Support the Chief Executive to manage the operations of Community First Development to ensure that they are viable and financially sustainable, meeting all financial and operational targets, and allocating resources to ensure operations can be delivered effectively, efficiently and are compliant with relevant policies and legislation. Promote Community First Development as the preferred model for the delivery of comprehensive culturally appropriate community development, evaluation and research. Attend meetings as directed by the Chief Executive Officer. Identify new funding opportunities to enable Community First Development to grow and develop to meet the increasing needs of First Peoples. High proficiency in Microsoft products, in particular Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and at least an understanding of capabilities of other products, including; PowerBI, PowerAutomate, Forms and Flow or the enthusiasm to learn, utilise, integrate and teach. IDENTIFIED ROLE Community First Development considers that being Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s 42 of the Discrimination Act 1991 (ACT). The filling of this position is intended to constitute a special/equal opportunity measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth), and s 27 of the Discrimination Act 1991 (ACT).

This position is Identified which necessitates the incumbent possess the unique cultural knowledge, lived experiences and community connections that are essential for effectively fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.
First Nations individuals possess an intrinsic understanding of their cultural knowledge, traditions, and social dynamics, which is crucial for engaging authentically with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities and other stakeholders engaged with as part of the role requirements.
This position has direct engagement with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples or CFD's stakeholders to discuss matters relating to First Nations peoples and communities.
