At Jetstar, you get to takeoff at work, and in life.We are on the hunt for an experienced aviation professional to takeoff in this newly created opportunity as Manager Engineering Operations. In this role, your primary function will be to manage engineering operations in the day-of-ops environment to support the successful delivery of Jetstar's flying schedule.Reporting to our Senior Manager Engineering Operations, you will primarily be responsible for:Manage Engineering operations in the day-of-ops environment with a key focus on schedule integrity, disruption managementActing as the key Engineering management representative providing dynamic leadership within the MOC and the Jetstar Operations Control Centre (JOCC).Management of planned and unplanned maintenance that balances the commercial, customer and operational impacts associated with disruptionActing as the operational Engineering point of contact and as an escalation point for activities within EngineeringProviding operational leadership and management to those within the Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC).Managing a team responsible for ensuring effective communication flow between those within and external to EngineeringWe are on the hunt for the following experience:Proven experience in an aviation operations or engineering environmentPassion and experience in managing, coaching and mentoring a team of direct reportsAviation industry experience essentialA desire for continuous improvement and are passionate about aviationSomebody who can demonstrate a thick skin in dealing with difficult situations whilst thriving in a fast-paced, constantly changing, operational environmentStrength in problem solving and decision making, including the ability to consider the operation, customer, cost, people and engineering impacts when proposing solutionsStrong verbal and written communication skillsSolid internal and external stakeholder management skillsWhat's in it for youOur team members enjoy access to unlimited heavily discounted fares to destinations all over the world - not only for team members, but for their favourite travel companions too.Access to a range of salary packaging and leave benefits.As a member of the Qantas Group, you will have the opportunity to build a career across multiple functions, locations and airlines.Structured programs and resources to support your health and wellbeing and development.Talk to us about how we can make this role work flexibly for you such that you can achieve your potential.Your life at Jetstar is unlike any otherFor us, travel and meeting new people go hand in hand.
