As a Senior Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise across various functional and technical areas to develop and deliver robust solutions.
You will participate in the architecture and design of large systems, work with cloud technologies, and mentor junior engineers to foster their growth.
What you'll be doing? Develop and maintain high-quality code, with a primary focus on Java Spring Boot and Docker.Design scalable integrations and APIs, ensuring they meet expected outcomes and quality standards.Automate the delivery of cloud infrastructure and applications.Utilise advanced knowledge of continuous integration and application release automation concepts, frameworks, and tools.Engage actively in Agile methodologies, participating in SCRUM and/or KANBAN ceremonies, and utilizing tools like Jira.Work extensively with AWS and related cloud technologies to enhance application performance and scalability.Implement event-driven architecture using Kafka to create responsive, scalable systems.Collaborate with tech leads and architects on large solution designs, performing trade-offs and articulating ideas to gain stakeholder buy-in.Focus on designing platforms that consider the end-to-end customer experience.Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their development and enhancing team performance.To be successful in the role you'll have: Minimum 5 years of proven proficiency in more than one programming language, with a strong emphasis on Java Spring Boot & Docker.Advanced programming knowledge and a track record of writing high-quality code.Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically AWS.Excellent understanding of continuous integration, application release automation, and infrastructure as code.Strong knowledge of system architecture with the ability to perform trade-offs and articulate decisions effectively.Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders and influence product owners, delivery managers, and architects.Experience working in Agile development environments, particularly with SCRUM and/or KANBAN techniques.Ability to design and implement solutions independently.Hands-on experience with Gradle, GitHub Actions, and Terraform is a plus.Experience working in retail, supply chain, or logistics verticals is an advantage.Benefits we'll offer you: Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy.A team member discount card that gives you a discount at Kmart, Target, Bunnings, and Officeworks.A free OnePass membership offering free delivery across Kmart, Target & Catch on eligible products.Access to the Kmart for You benefits program which entitles you to exclusive discounts and benefits in the areas of entertainment, travel, lifestyle, and health.Opportunity to participate in a bonus program.Free onsite parking when you're required to come into the office.Inclusive parental leave and ongoing support offered through our partnership with Circle In.A dynamic learning and support program.Opportunity to fast track your career through our Mentor Program.In-house café that serves breakfast, lunch and includes a collaborative space to work in.Reflection room, space for prayer, meditation, or time for yourself.Kudos recognition program, where you are nominated by your peers to win prizes.Regular product sample sales with tonnes of discounted items to purchase.Great career opportunities across the broader Wesfarmers Group.We're here to make everyday living brighter At Kmart, we celebrate the rich diversity of the communities in which we operate and are committed to creating inclusive and safe environments where all our team members can contribute and succeed.
