The role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Components Technician to join the team at our Heatherbrae facility.
In this role, you will perform high-quality assessments and repairs of various Sandvik components and complete general workshop duties.
Previous experience working on transmissions, converters, upboxes/dropboxes, and axles is preferred.
To be successful, you will demonstrate technical understanding of Sandvik equipment and apply a proactive approach to ensuring machine performance, assisting our customers in improving their productivity.
As a technician, you will perform inspections and repairs on a range of specialist mining equipment, including but not limited to:
Individual components from Sandvik machines Ancillary UG equipment We will supply product training and the support of our dedicated product support personnel.
This role works on a 4-day roster from Heatherbrae Site, on night shift hours from 3:20 PM to 12:50 AM.
Areas of responsibility
Perform work in a safe manner in a team environment.
Adhere to all Sandvik EHS and environmental policies and procedures.
Maintenance and servicing of equipment.
Plan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks.
Commissioning of products that includes quality inspections and commissioning/dyno testing.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and solve common problems.
Use knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers.
Understand system functionality and interactions of hydraulics, mechanics, electrics, automation, pneumatics, and materials.
Complete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Occasionally collect technical feedback in the Sales Area.
Assign simple tasks to junior staff and guide them.
Ensure routine work procedures are carried out according to safety standards.
Work effectively in a team environment or autonomously.
Your profile
Relevant Trade Qualification or relevant work experience.
Valid Driver's License (compulsory).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Flexible to work with customer requirements, procedures, and safety policies.
Positive attitude and determination to achieve customer satisfaction.
Attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Proactive, self-motivated, and demonstrate initiative.
Ability to learn and use digital mobile tools and applications.
