Meriton Suites is currently seeking a Maintenance Officer to support one of our beautiful Church Street, Parramatta property.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will work to ensure our property is safe, well maintained, and well presented.
You will work as part of a high-performing maintenance team.
You will have access to Meriton Suites benefits including discounted hotel stays across Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Canberra, and Melbourne.
Your key responsibilities
Fitting, testing, repairing, and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors, and handrails.
Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins, and toilets.
Performing basic carpentry, including hanging and replacing doors and operating power tools.
Performing minor welds to fabricate or repair fixtures.
Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and alarms.
Reporting requirements for significant repairs to management.
Clearing gutters and common areas of rubbish and debris.
Applying and repairing paint and plaster.
Changing locks on doors and windows.
Painting duties if/when needed.
To be successful in this role you will have
Familiarity with maintenance officer/handyman duties or hold an applicable trade.
Exposure in a hotel environment is highly desirable.
A high level of attention to detail.
The ability to work independently.
Full availability to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays (shift time between 7 am and 11 pm).
A professional approach in dealing with guests and other staff members whilst carrying out your daily tasks.
