About the role We're seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide expert high quality legal advice to stakeholders on existing business and business development areas within the Technology and Information related area.
You will ensure that legal obligations are met, and legal risks managed, while seeking maximum alignment with the Group's business objectives and protection of its interests and reputation.
You'll be working in an innovative team, that provide legal advice on: technology, privacy, data and cyber focused customer service and consulting contracts; software contracts and licenses; privacy, data, cyber, intellectual property and technology advice; digitisation reforms; technology and privacy advice on toll products; privacy customer matters; and all associated commercial proposals, transactions and associated regulatory issues.

Day-to-day, you will: Offer legal advice and support Transurban's on Technical and Information related Commercial proposals and transactions Assist with the related negotiations and drafting of relevant documentation Ensure the Group's objectives are met when negotiating, advising on, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and contracts Build success and contribute to engaging on bids/tenders, and completing documentation for new strategic business opportunities Effectively build relationships by working with a range of clients in the business Provide sound and timely advice considering all facets of commercial risk and outcomes relevant to the Group Assist with risk management and compliance, including contractor and supplier compliance, Transurban Group corporate compliance Be capable of building strong working relationships at all levels across the Group and represent Transurban in meetings or communications with external stakeholders.
This role will suit someone with high integrity, a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: Two to four year post-qualification experience within a law firm or relevant Technology and Information corporate counsel experience Ability to interpret legislation and legal requirements and apply them clearly and effectively Experience negotiating and writing complex commercial contracts Experience managing legal risk and anticipate issues, propose solutions early, participate in regular business team meetings Strong and well-developed communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to build effective working relationships with individuals at all levels both within the organisation and externally Law degree and qualification as a lawyer in Australia or comparable jurisdiction Admission as a solicitor in Australia and current practicing certificate If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
